This is getting insane. I was always a good speller as a child, but now everything that I've ever learned is slowly changing. I'm just having a WTF moment here. If this keeps up, I won't know how to spell any word in the English language correctly.
The why of the Mandela Effect is also bothering me. Are we all just being mind fucked by somebody? Take away or change a letter here and there and see if people notice? See how dumb we've become and how attached we are to our devices that we don't even notice that our world is being flipped inside out? What will they take away next? What will they slip under the radar?
Anyway, enough of my rant! They took the first "e" out of "judgement". According to Google, it's "judgment", no matter which definition.
Grammarist says, "In American English, judgement is generally considered a misspelling of judgment for all uses of the word, notwithstanding individual preferences.
Writing Explained says:
Most American dictionaries and usage guides prefer the shorter judgment. The AP Stylebook, The American Heritage Dictionary, and Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary all prefer judgment.
Interestingly enough, despite the fact that judgment is seen as a primarily American spelling, it is still the preferred form for legal works in British English.
I'm American and I've never seen "judgment" in my life! Reporters all over America know "judgement", no matter which definition. Guess we didn't get the memo.
