Like with Uncle Sam's vanishing stripes, we're just supposed to forget that The Pillsbury Dough Boy once had a blue neckerchief. He now looks naked with his white neckerchief, which blends into his body to point that you wonder why he's even wearing it at all.
According to Pillsbury, he's worn the white neckerchief since the beginning of time.
"The lovable Poppin’ Fresh has been a fan favorite since his debut in 1965."
These toys from 1972 show a white neckerchief as well.
In this commercial from 1982 he had a white neckerchief, but that's not what I remember. In 1982, I was kid who spent many hours in front of the TV, so I saw the dough boy on a regular basis - with a blue neckerchief.
From memorabilia to parodies, Poppin' Fresh is portrayed with a blue neckerchief. Are naysayers going to conclude that we all just "made a mistake" or "misremembered" a blue neckerchief like people all over the country are under some kind mind control causing us just think the neckerchief used to be blue?
